Well, just over a year and 68 dives since I first started diving, I
passed my Divemaster exams yesterday. Assuming that PADI don't veto the dive centre's endorsement, I should get my first black card in a few weeks. I'm very chuffed! I've been hooked on diving since dive 1, and have been working hard at both improving my own skill and finding out as much about the sport as I can. I'm confident that I'll still be learning up to and beyond the day that, for whatever reason, I have to stop diving. I am looking forward to helping others catch the bug, now. Once my cert is through, I'll be spending a month or two shadowing an experienced DM at the dive centre, followed by another month or two having an experienced DM keep an eye on me as I assist in 'the front line'. For the time being, though, I'm glad I don't need to look at any more pictures of pneumothorax, mediastinal emphysema or pulmonary embolism. I'm hoping that after a week or two, I'll be able to stop muttering "p1.v1/t1=p2.v2/t2", "0.0997kg/mfw", "deg K = deg C + 273" and so on to myself. p.s. It's been a while since I've been active on ukrs, what with a moving to London, changing jobs and so on, I've been short of time... so a big *wave* to folks and "hi" to KL who I saw in Weymouth a few weeks back.
