Browsing NAUI's website, I see their take on the "X-Brand" compared to
NAUI standards. It seems that they don't like PADI, ... sorry "X-Brand" for their unprofessionalism in divers ed. Nevertheless, PADI's divers training is recognized for college credits and none of the others is. If a diver "switches" to NAUI, from PADI certification, will NAUI accept it or will they say, no, wait a minute, first you will have to go through a 'retraining' program. I know that PADI has an agreement with CMAS in Europe regarding the procedure of recognizing each others level of training and education. Is there a similar standard in the United States? Reading rec.scuba, I see quite often an intense discussion regarding the competition of both agencies. I like at NAUI their scope on tech diving, which for now is not a serious consideration of PADI. What do you guys think about all those issues and do you have experience transferring between both organizations? Thanks |
