Have you ever seen a polarized school of fish that moved as if it was
one organism? Very beautiful and interesting sight to behold. When I starting reading rec.scuba a could see that a group identified as DIR seem to think as one organism. I find this interesting for the lack of a better word. Terry Maas wrote a book "Bluewater Hunters and Freediving" in this book he describes his experiences and his methods. It is loaded with experiences, pictures and suggestions. Now in contrast George has written "The DIR Gear Configuration" which is his legacy. I'm not sure if he knows or if he has directed people to promote DIR to this group. Some people carve up or dilute the configuration and seem to be selling it as their own. I don't know and this is interesting to me. Doesn't DIR have copywrights? Scott seems to have his, Lee his, Dan's got a web site. What gives? Some people call it a cave diving religion and are trying to sell it to the masses. As you know I have rejected the gear configuration for myself and my buddy for reasons of safety and personal choice. This really seems to upset a few people here. Does this reflect or are you the sounding board for George Irvine? jose Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ |
