Are any of you guys similarly annoyed by surface interval fish stories?
I'm talking about the guy who says "Hey, did you see that frog fish?" during the surface interval, but who didn't point bother to point it out when we were under? I don't mind someone who says "Did you see the frog fish I was pointing you to?", or "Thanks for pointing out that beautiful stone fish!". But I get really irritated by all these people who have to brag about a so-called find which, I'm sure they just feel smug/confident that others haven't seen. After all, if someone doesn't point out a frog fish, how likely would someone else find it on his own? I've taken to responding to these boasts with "No. Did you see the mermaid riding the giant sea horse?" or "No. Did you see the giant squid attacking the great white shark?". This has seemed to get the message across, and the braggers take their boasting elsewhere. What do |
