Comments please. I may have to defend my opinion and I need some help.
You are out of air. You give the big out-of-air signal and get an air source (primary, backup, it doesn't matter for this discussion). Now some of the important folks at the shop I teach at (ie: the owner), teach that the receiver (out of air person) should ditch their weightbelt for the ascent to the surface. I say no. In a warm water environment dropping the 10 lb belt isn't that big of a deal however in my cold water climes, we're talking about 20-30lbs, which would make the buoyancy differences between the donor and receiver huge. Which would make a controlled ascent very difficult. What do you think? Brian |
