We usually fill Al tanks out of a water bath, steel tanks in the bath.
Reason being steel heats quicker than al. due to the compression of
the air in the tanks. As long as the tank is filled slowly, the metal
will not be damaged. I agree with the previous response, most people
fill tanks way to fast.
