I didn't know what was up with it. I've never tried to connect to Napster and I was on someone else's computer who is ...like you.... on aol. Aol does things a bit differently than my ISP so I wasn't sure about the message. I used to grab mp3's and wav files from IRC chat. There's a script that allows you to do that when someone plays one of these files. Ppl trade them or just sit in the channel and listen to what is being played. Well after 4 yrs of doing that, I had a nice collection. Then my hard drive crashed. LOL My sound card died too and I haven't even replaced it yet. And I have no intentions of putting music files back on this hard drive. It's just not the same ....so if I wanna hear music, I flip a disc in the CD player in my stereo downstairs.... not here. Closing Napster won't prevent music from being spread illegally.... it was going on LONG before Napster ever showed up. I always wondered how the channels on IRC that provided that service were allowed to remain open. They've |
