 DIR, Black, and my diving

I must admit that Black has given me hours of entertainment on this group
and my hat is off to each and every individual responsible for making his
um, shortcomings, brutally obvious to all of us. In addition, he has made me
take a serious look at my own diving technique and ability (out of a very
large need to make sure that I am as far away from him, in every conceivable
sense, as possible) which are both lacking as I have not been involved in
diving for very long. To this end, could anybody recommend a good starting
point (not just the GUE website) to learn about the theory, gear,
configuration, principles, etc behind DIR? In addition, where is a good
place to go to receive some "real" training? Is the Florida springs area a
likely spot? (I'm only a few hours from there) North Carolina?

Thanks,

Mike McD
