Just to let everyone know I had the pleasure yesterday of using Scott
Koplin's stainless steel single tank adapter (which he makes himself).
I was highly impressed with the quality and function of the piece.

I had been using the Halcyon blue aluminum STA without any problems of
wobble that some have reported, but did find it strange that Halcyon
don't make a stainless steel adapter, which I much prefer. The
Halcyon aluminum one is prone to corrosion where the bolts connect
through to the backplate (if you were using a stainless steel
backplate).

Another feature I really liked about Scott's STA is that the bolts are
tack-welded which makes changing bladders a breeze. Also, the
backplate is lower profile which brings the tank closer to your back
(especially advantageous when you're diving with steel tanks).

The adapter is available in weighted or non-weighted. I used the
non-weighted because I was diving wet with a steel tank. In the
wintertime when I wear a drysuit, I'll have to get a weighted version.

Hats off to you Scott for a fine piece of Scuba equipment!

Jonny
